PetPoint is a web-based data management service for animal welfare organizations whose web-based solutions help shelters save time and money.
As PetPoint’s software is entirely web-based, the only way to log in is through the website; they do not currently have a mobile app or downloadable software.

Logging in to the PetPoint website is very simple. However, unlike many other websites, logging in will also require that you provide your shelter ID. Shelter IDs are provided to each shelter by PetPoint after registration. If you are not the system administrator or manager of your shelter but still have access to PetPoint, you should have been given a shelter ID along with the rest of your login credentials.

You can also access the login portal directly by going to sms.petpoint.com.
- On the petpoint.com homepage, look for the “Login to PetPoint” box underneath the main graphics on the homepage. This box should be about halfway down the page and has a graphic of a dog looking at a computer.
- Click the “Login to PetPoint” box, which will send you to the login portal at sms.petpoint.com.
- Enter your shelter ID, username and password in the specified fields. For easier future logins, you can select the “Remember Shelter ID” or “Remember User Name” checkboxes to save these credentials.
- NOTE: Do not use these checkboxes if you are on a shared computer, especially computers accessible to the general public. If your computer is a shared computer, however, it may be acceptable to save the Shelter ID field.
- Click to the green “Sign In” button at the bottom of the login box

If you’re having trouble logging in to your PetPoint account, you may have forgotten your login credentials. Unfortunately, it currently isn’t possible to recover your username, shelter ID or password through the online portal; to recover such information, you’ll need to contact either your shelter’s system administrator or PetPoint technical support.
If you’re sure you have entered the correct shelter ID and username, you may also want to try re-entering your password. Note that PetPoint passwords are case-sensitive, meaning that uppercase and lowercase letters are considered different from one another. As a result, ensure that caps-lock is off and that you type carefully—mistyped passwords are one of the most common login errors!
If you’re trying to log in for the first time and can’t log in, your account may not be set up. In this case, you should also contact either your shelter’s system administrator or PetPoint technical support.
